This is Dali's equivalent of Waikiki beach -- the street is packed with tourists day and night -- these are mostly Chinese tourists, but many Taiwanese, Japanese and Koreans come here too. |

"Foreigner Street" -- this street is lined by restaurants selling Japanese, Korean, and western foods. Lot's of things to buy here, but not really any pressure to buy here, except by the odd hawker that might follow you around and try to take you away from this market. |

The mountains towering behind Dali... there's a small whitish blip in the middle of the mountains there -- that's a temple, I took a chairlift up to there. |

On the way up to the temple, I saw this little palatial home -- with private pond, ceremonial tea pavilion and garden. All the way up the mountain there are many burial sites, all made of granite (you can see this in the upper right corner). |
